First up, we travel to Switzerland to luxuriate in the grandeur of the Tschuggen Grand Hotel (above), a stunning 5-star hotel tucked away in the mountains of Graubünden.
Next, there’s the Kandalama Hotel in Sri Lanka, designed by one of the country’s most esteemed green architects, Geoffrey Bawa:
Pausing stateside for a moment, it would be remiss not to duck into the simply grand Le Pavillon, a boutique hotel in the central business district of New Orleans that stands a quick walk from the French Quarter and sweetly serves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in its historic lobby each night:
Back across the globe, we strongly urge a visit to (at least the website of) The Opposite House in Beijing to peek behind the emerald green glass erected by architect Kengo Kuma and designers Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu…
…for a slightly more Western experience, head to The Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh for traditional Scottish living at its finest…
…and to really make your head spin, check out Leeser Architecture‘s plans for the Helix Hotel in Abu Dhabi, but be sure to sit down before you do.
Safe travels and happy trails, even if the only flight you’re taking is one of fancy while perusing today’s links.
