A simple idea, a stunning outcome. 36 Pencil Bowl is the brainchild of Michiel Cornelissen, a Dutch product designer from Utrecht.

As schoolchildren, most of us had a pencil case with all the different colored hexagonal pencils. That’s what we have here, thirty-six pencils, fixed to a base to create a colorful bowl. Any type of traditional pencil can be used with the base, so you can easily configure your own color scheme.

A tribute to the ubiquitous, hexagonal color pencil, the design is also representative of new modern product designs, combining simple, easily available materials with high tech, custom interface parts.
