It goes without saying, really: we all love our pets. Some of us — and we’re not pointing fingers here — might even go above and beyond to put Fido and Fifi’s needs before our own, while others could probably devote a bit more time and attention to those loyal little furballs who adore us so.
For those of us who fall somewhere in the middle — who love to pamper our furry friends but realize the importance of maintaining our role as the boss, so to speak, quite a few pet furniture makers have begun figuring out ways for us to integrate their designs into ours without causing such a clash.
A dog crate, for instance, isn’t exactly a thing of beauty, but the one pictured below looks just like an end table until a second or perhaps third glance unveils its dual purpose. Although it might not be particularly portable, it’s a perfectly subtle way to give our four-legged family members somewhere to rest without ruining our actual furniture or cluttering up our space with a big plastic monstrosity with zero aesthetic appeal.
For those less interested in hiding pet furniture away and more interested in stirring up a conversation, there’s the mahogany pet bed (see top image) and the Manhattan couch (below), both of which clearly mimic regular furniture, but do so in a pint-sized fashion to fit our favorite furballs’ needs.
And for those French country enthusiasts, there’s always a good old-fashioned dog bed… presented in toile, of course. With options like these, it really is a dog’s life after all.

The pet bed is royal. Kingly treatment for the king of the home
I love the converted sidetable “dog den”!
