Neighborhood Spy: Links to The Little Things

Scandinavian Room Inspiration by Remodelista

Today’s roundup focuses on the little things that make a space warmer, brighter, cooler, or whatever extra little something makes it just a tiny bit better.

First, Remodelista shares some basics for creating a sublime Scandinavian-inspired living space in the form of a calming room for a wee one (above.)

Next, Atelier Areti offers this pretty avian-inspired “Alouette” lamp collection:

Just in time for 4th of July weekend, if not quite the 4th itself, Elle Decor shares a host of patriotic red, white and blue rooms like this one:

Elsewhere on the web, Furniture Fashion shares a roundup of ten clever floor cushions, some affordable and sweet and some that are out of this world…

And last but not least, House Beautiful shares a list of designer secrets for those of us living in small spaces. Because even when it comes to tiny living quarters, we don’t have to give up the liberties we enjoy in more expansive homes.

Let freedom ring!

The bird lamp (or track lighting?) is very sweet; the blue and red room is pretty hideous. The “calming” room feels a bit clinical, but I’d prefer it to the garish colors of the other.
