Contemporary Himalayan style rug art for walls

August 4, 2010 by

Linking traditional Himalayan handicrafts with minimalist style, Jan Keith’s contemporary rug art is so exquisite it belongs on the wall to be admired rather than on the floor where it would be trod upon.

Jan Keith comes from a background of carpet traders, two generations before him were also in the business so it was a young boy that his love of rugs began. Since 1996 he has been creating wonderful wall rugs from his workshop in Nepal.

By blending modern styles with traditional Nepalese carpets, many of Jan’s rugs have an almost vintage look, with their 50′s modern art patterns infused with a frayed and worn look. So, if you come across a rug which is so fantastic in its design don’t be afraid to hang it on your wall for all to see.
