Coffee Cups to Keep on Display

January 25, 2013 by

Coffee mugs don’t have to be tucked away behind cabinet doors until they’re ready to be used. Instead, you can put them out on a countertop or hang them from hooks beneath the cabinets to leave them on display.

They can add color, charm, and though they’re used as knick-knacks in some cases, they’re functional.

Leave this white stoneware mug with feet on your counter to make your guests do a double-take.

Owls are still trendy, but even when they’re not, it’s hard to deny their appeal.

A mustache mug adds a hint of quirkiness and the blue polka dot background will add a bright spot to a dark area of the kitchen. If you don’t need it for coffee, consider filling it with a bouquet of small yellow flowers.

Ceramic mugs like this one and the one below are always gorgeous when left on display alone or in groups. The craftsmanship should never be stuck behind a closed cabinet door.

Would you leave coffee mugs on display, or would you prefer to keep everything tucked away until it’s needed?

Love the owl mugs; I’d be afraid the footed mug would tip! For me a good mug is more about the size and the handle than the design — it has to be easy to hold. I’ve tossed more mugs that don’t match since I only use a few favorite mugs anyway.
