I recently had the fortune of meeting Kelly Van Hook on Twitter, a self-taught painter from Searcy, Arkansas. Her 22 abstract originals are a stunning composition of form, vibrant colours and lines.
Abstract art is a departure from reality, creations that can make everyday life look almost absurd. A recent modern interior design trend with abstract paintings has been to hang them in sets of 3 or more, building up a whole image with gaps of seperation.
Abstract paintings and prints make wonderful statements on any wall in the home, giving real splashes of colour and vigour to the room, and also look effective standing freely on a mantlepiece. Kelly’s abstract originals are a mixture of retro, modern and surreal, and are priced as low as $20.
Who says creating modern home designs has to be expensive? It’s just a case of finding the most creative products.
